How You Can Help

2018 Caring Hearts Appeal Letter

Your support has enabled LABMF ‘s dating violence prevention trainings and educational activities to continue in our schools since 2007, thus touching the lives of thousands throughout Rhode Island.  Although we continue to miss personally connecting with all of you, our work continues, and we hope you will continue to join with us in making a difference through a donation to Lindsay’s “Caring Hearts” Annual Appeal.

Our work supports the dating violence education mandated in grades 7-12 by Lindsay’s Law.   We continue to believe that had Lindsay been provided this vital education, she would still be with us today.   You have helped to keep Lindsay’s voice alive, as she speaks to teens through our trained teachers in the classrooms, through our poster contests, Clothesline projects, book donations, website, and so much more.

  • This year we received an email from a retired guidance counselor. She wrote “When I retired I decided to be a substitute teacher in my home area, Aquidneck Island, and in particular, the Portsmouth and Middletown schools. I see the books LABMF previously donated to schools everywhere! The students are reading them…in literacy classes, health classes. It is so nice to see. Thank you so much for all that you do.” We are pleased to announce that this year we will be donating the fiction book “But I Love Him” by Amanda Grace, bookmarks, and posters to RI high school libraries.
  • A letter received this year from health teacher Shari Paci, Stamford HS, CT (previously trained by LABMF) reads: “Thank you so much for creating LABMF. I currently taught the LABMF curriculum and had the students write to you. Lindsay’s story is not forgotten; we are cherishing her memory to prevent other attacks. We are teaching the red flags, cycle of abuse, and ways to help in Stamford HS. The students are engaged and active in learning about dating violence. Thank you for advocating education for every student in regards to dating violence not only in RI, but around our nation.”

These are just some of the accomplishments made possible through your continued support. We are very grateful to all of you and please know that with your “Caring Hearts” donation, you are truly making a difference in the lives of our youth and community.

We are a 501-C-3 organization and because we have no paid staff, your entire donation supports our projects.   A heart-felt thank you to you, and we look forward to placing your name on our website’s “2018 Caring Hearts” donor page!
